The first Term of 2022 has been nothing short of amazing! The SRC and the entire Year 12 cohort have thoroughly enjoyed the start of the year and have been delighted with the participation and engagement of all the high school students.

The first major school event of the year was our Inter-House Swimming Carnival, and despite some major adjustments due to Covid, it was a fabulous day. We had some amazing results from our champion swimmers, great participation, and spirit from all Houses, and to end the day an awesome novelty boogie board race! Of course, this day would not have been possible without the hard work of Mr. Quelch and the Physical Education department, as well as our amazing House Captains who ensured everything ran smoothly. Congratulations to Yerushalyim who won on the day - the Year 12s in Yerushalyim were over the moon to hold up the House Shield.

Another standout and arguably the biggest event for the whole year was Purim! The Year 12s had worked tirelessly since November last year, planning activities, organising games, and making decorations, ensuring it would be a day to remember. Even with constant setbacks, uncertainty and the unfortunate Covid restrictions, the 12s remained focused and worked exceptionally. On the day, the school looked vibrant and colourful with the Dr Suess theme displayed across campus. The morning rituals of the Megillah reading, Purim play, and costume parade were outstanding. The year 9-11 Amazing Race was a highlight of the day, and the after-lunch activities headlined by rock climbing, a silent disco and yummy snow cones were fantastic. This day, which is not easy to organise, was coordinated brilliantly by Mr. Lawrence, Mrs Niss and our amazing Judaica Captains Rafael and Rebecca. It was certainly a Purim we will never forget.

We also had a new initiative this term, the House Sports Championship, which ran in weeks 8 and 9 after school. Each House competed across various sports and in different age brackets, to gain points for their House and to participate in some fun, physical exercise! It was amazing to see so much participation from the High School students, and we could tell it was thoroughly enjoyed.

After an action-packed Term, we hope everyone has a relaxing, rejuvenating holiday, and has an amazing Pesach with family and friends. Enjoy the break, and we can’t wait to see you in Term 2.
