On Monday 16 August our fabulous Carmel Primary School Chess team came third in the 2021 Western Australia School Chess League Primary School Division! Our four players took this event very seriously, meeting on Sunday for a final practice with chess instructor Jay.听 Daniel L,听Ezra L,听Mia C and Marcus V represented Carmel听at Perth Modern School at the event, competing against nine qualifying schools with some of the best junior players in the state.

The only team which didn鈥檛 lose their round of games against the winning school (Oberthur Primary) Carmel was only half a point behind second placed Nedlands Primary.听

Mia C won an individual trophy for being best Table Three player among all the players in the tournament.听Kol Hakavod to Team Carmel! We are very proud of you.
