On Monday 29 November, the Year 8 cohort was very fortunate to attend a Shakespeare workshop. After reading and interpreting Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ in class, we enjoyed being able to act out the scenes and explore the characters’ development as the play progressed.

We were given a script and, in small groups, we interpreted the dialogue and rehearsed the scene. We then performed the scene in front of the class as the teacher from Bell Shakespeare guided us and gave us feedback along the way.

We were split into small groups and given a character. We acted out some important scenes that helped shape the character and show its development. We thoroughly enjoyed performing these in front of the class as they were so funny!

We are so grateful to have had this experience as it helped us understand the complex themes presented in ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, and we also had so much fun in the process!
